melting heart!

Ok, most of the things I want to blog about are about not mom things, although I adore being a mom and feel so blessed for getting to spend the day with my little girl, sometimes I need to find myself. However today I want to gush. My daughter is smack dab in the middle of what is known as the "terrible twos" But there are a few times when she proves to me that the sweet little girl i knew a year ago is still here. Today while I was sitting on the floor with her playing she reached over and grabbed my hand. just to hold it. I'm pretty sure I'll remember this moment as the moment she melted what was left of my already puddle heart. <3

UHG!!! SOME PARENTS KIDS!!!

After working in childcare as long as I have I feel like I have seen it all but that said,  and maybe I am just a strict parent but what happened to some good ole disciplinary action for our children!? While I agree that they should be allowed to form their own opinions they need to do it in a respectful way! I also think toddlers need A LOT of direction, and guidance not just oh don't do that sweetie. I know I am a strict parent and so were my parents but I know when its appropriate to hold my tongue and there are certain people you just don't argue with and grandparents are in that group. Let's Teach our children respect, and give them the discipline needed to teach them that respect. It only teaches them how to be a stronger person and respect goes along way and makes them a whole lot more tolerable for everyone else.

i know pronounce you... roommates?

When my husband and I first got together, he was so romantic. There were flowers, poems, cards, notes, candles and every other cliche' thing from a chick flick you can imagine. 6yrs, 1 baby and a chocolate lab later I'm amazed if he remembers to kiss me goodbye in the morning. Why is it that after you get comfortable with each other the romance stops and the bathroom door is left open. Now I'm not that naive I realize he does number 2 but do I want to walk down the hall and hear and see him do it? NO! shut the door! All I'm saying is any marriage will last longer and be more enjoyable if he would put a little more thought into the romance that we used to have. Not that I can't put a little effort in myself but to me having an ice cold beer, a hot dinner and a clean house is pretty romantic to me.
